Taped live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, and captured by 7 cameras in high definition video and audio and surround and stereo mixes, the performances combine cutting edge technology with a stellar band and an essential reading by the musician himself.
Speaking of the performance Scaggs says: "It's not every night nor just any band that can pull off this song list," From the jazz tinged "Harbor Lights" to the desperately blue "Loan Me A Dime," this line up hits the highs, the lows and everything in between to provide a stunning backdrop to the artist and his most recognized work.
Boz's extraordinary band features the following musicians: Bass: Matt Bissonette; Drums: John Ferraro; Guitar: Drew Zingg; Organ: Jim Cox; Piano: Michael Bluestein; Saxophone: Charles McNeal; Trumpet: Rich Armstrong; Vocals: Monet Owens and Barbara Wilson.
The full song list includes: Lowdown; Slow Dancer; Heart of Mine; It All Went Down; The Drain; Harbor Lights; Jojo; Ask Me 'Bout Nothin' But The Blues; Breakdown Dead Ahead; Look What You've Done To Me; I Just Go; Georgia; Miss Sun; Lido Shuffle; Runnin' Blues; Loan Me a Dime; We're All Alone.
The DVD, directed by Lawrence Jordan, also features behind the scenes footage including rehearsals and backstage dialogue, a photo gallery, and a bonus performance of "Harbor Lights" by Boz's Jazz Quintet.
